Solveig Neseth is an emerging Coloratura Soprano. In 2019, she received her Master of Music in Opera Performance from Oklahoma City University, where she also graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in 2017.
While at OCU, Solveig performed the roles of Yvette in La Rondine, La Fée in Cendrillon, and Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor. Solveig also garnered extensive experience in contemporary opera, performing in regional premieres of Michael Daugherty's Jackie O and Nico Muhly's Dark Sisters as Liz Taylor and Lucinda, respectively, as well as performing the lead role of Rosa Carini in the world premiere of Thomas Pasitieri's The Vaudevillian.
As a soprano soloist, Solveig has performed in such concert works as Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, Thomas Dubois' Seven Last Words, and Gabriel Fauré's Requiem. Whilst in Oklahoma, she competed several times singing for the National Association of Teachers of Singing, where she won fourth place in the Texoma region, first place in the Oklahoma district, and first place at the 2019 National Student Auditions at St. Olaf College. She is also a member of the Phi Kappa Lambda Honors Society.
During her time in Oklahoma City, Solveig had the opportunity to perform with local opera company Painted Sky Opera. She performed chorus work for Tosca and Amahl and the Night Visitors. She was slated to make her professional debut as Charlene in Painted Sky's regional premiere of Weiss and de los Santos' Service Provider prior to the outbreak of Covid-19.
Post-pandemic, Solveig moved overseas to pursue international opportunities in London. In 2022, she performed as the soprano cover for Rogue Opera’s Opera in the Garden Fuller’s Tour. Most recently, Solveig enjoyed success in Brent Opera West Hampstead’s 2023 production of Lucia di Lammermoor, where she had her professional debut in the title role of Lucia.
