James has a strong passion for music, which has continued through his artistic pursuits since the 4th grade. Thanks to his efforts and dedicated instructors, James auditioned and performed at the 2023 and 2024 Texas Music Educators Mixed Choir concerts during his freshman and sophomore years. Moreover, he was also personally selected to attend the Boston Conservatory at Berklee to engage in a two-week-long intensive program. Additionally, James was selected for the Houston Grand Opera's high school voice studio for the 2024-2025 season.
James' passion for music is also present in his efforts toward community service, leading him to join the highly esteemed Chords for a Cause non-profit. Chords for a Cause is a non-profit organization that has raised more than $30,000 for various organizations such as SkateTherapy, Feeding America, Care, Save the Children, and the Alvin ISD Education Fund. James' position as a Board Member and Event Manager has led him to use music as a tool to help those in need through fundraising and volunteering.
