American Soprano, Madelynn Hunter, grew up in Derby, Kansas. She performed roles in Dido and Aeneas (Dido) by Purcell, The Mikado (Pitti-Sing) by Gilbert and Sullivan, Die Zauberflöte (3rd Spirit) by Mozart, and Suor Angelica (Le converse) by Puccini while studying Voice Performance at Brigham Young University. She also participated in the chorus for La Bohème by Puccini and Theordora by Handel at BYU.
In May 2022, Madelynn will compete in the Classical Singer Competition in Chicago, IL. Madelynn competed in the 2022 semi-final for Music International Grand Prix. In the Nouvelles Étoiles competition, she placed Second in the adult category. In 2021, Madelynn competed in the Great Composers Competition Series: Claude Debussy and won first place in her category. She also made it to the semi-finals of the Camerata Bardi International Vocal Competition in 2021.
In 2016 and 2019, she took part in the Utah Vocal Arts Academy. In 2016, she played a role in The Merry Widow (CloClo) by Lehar for UVAA. In 2019, Madelynn was selected for UVAA’s Dramatic Voices Program. During both of these summer programs, Madelynn sang in masterclasses with world renowned singers such as Wendy Bryn Harmer, Alan Glassman, and Debrah Voigt. She worked with international vocal coaches Nicolas Guisti, Barbara Allen, and Rebecca Pacheco. The voice teachers Madelynn works with include Mindy Ammons, Darrell Babidge, and Michelle Broadbent. She finished her bachelors of Voice Performance from Brigham Young University in April 2021.
