Bio

I am currently a 11th grader in high school attending Interlochen Arts Academy and studying voice with Dr. Laura Osgood Brown. I have always loved singing and music. I have been playing piano since I was 5. In 3rd I started playing viola and that has given me a good understanding of how orchestras work. I have had a deep interest in how the music itself works and self-studied theory. I have been in various choirs over the years. I started my stage journey with plays and musicals. From this, along with my interest in opera, I also greatly enjoy stage plays and the drama they have to offer. Since my beginning in 6th grade, I have discovered the wealth of old recordings that exist of opera and have fallen in love with the voices and stories being told on those recordings. My parents are both from Europe (Finland and Switzerland) and they have thankfully made sure I speak both languages at a conversational level. This fostered an interest in other cultures and languages in me from a young age. I am currently studying French and am excited to continue my study of languages through singing in them. I hope to continue my deep dive into opera and what I have to offer as a performer as I grow and my instrument as well as my emotional maturity and skills develop.
