About Ethan Thomas Smith:

Ethan is a rising star in the world of classical music, known for captivating vocal performances and mature vocals. From a young age, Ethan displayed an exceptional talent for singing, drawing inspiration from church hymns, classical composers, and opera legends.

Early Years:

Born with a natural gift for music, Ethan began his musical journey at the tender age of seven when he joined the after-school choir group. Where he learned the joy of singing with a group and performing in front of an audience. Then, at the age of ten, Ethan joined the Grand Rapids Men and Boys Chorus. The GRMBC allowed Ethan to work with Chorus conductors from around the world. They taught Ethan how to read music and shape the sound of notes with his mouth. He mesmerized audiences with his angelic voice. After Ethan’s voice changed from a soprano to a tenor, he needed to leave the voices of the young boys.

In 2021, he joined the Grand Rapids Youth Chorus. He has been with this group for three years and has performed at the Grand Rapids Devos Hall alongside the Grand Rapids Symphony for their Holiday performances and their Star Wars Concert. The GRYC has also allowed Ethan to perform in Ireland. While there, his choir performed at many Cathedrals across the country including the well-known Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. The GRYC has been instrumental in teaching Ethan how to harmonize and perform in front of large audiences. They have also taught him that those that sing together have a unique bond of friendship and all have become like family.

Ethan has also had many opportunities to share his voice as a soloist. He has cantored at his church on many occasions and shared the beauty of his voice with the congregation. Along with cantoring, he has soothed grieving loved ones with songs at several funerals. In 2022 and 2023, Ethan has been asked to sing as a guest soloist at a local church. They even gave him his first chance to sing the “The Prayer” duet by Josh Groben.

Education:

Ethan is pursuing a rigorous education in both academics and music and Wyoming High School. Under an incredible vocal coach’s guidance, Ethan continually hones his vocal technique and refines his musical talents. He actively participates in school choirs and performs in various recitals where he has been allowed to perform solos.

Driven by a deep passion for music and a commitment to excellence, Ethan aspires to enchant audiences with his soul-stirring performances.
