Ever since I was little, I have always had a love of singing and performing. My love of musical theatre turned into a passion for classical repertoire when I started taking music lessons at age 14. It was a very new experience and I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the musicality, style and language of a piece. The experience was so different than musical theater and I loved the challenge. Within 6 months of learning my first aria, I advanced to the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) national semi-final round as a high school freshman and again as a sophomore the next year. I attended the CS Music convention in Chicago and advanced to the 2nd round of live auditions and recently won an Encouragement Award (age 16-18) from the National Society of Arts and Letters – Washington DC chapter’s Shirley Rabb Winston Voice Scholarship Awards. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow by studying classical voice in college.
