Bio

The mezzosoprano Anna-Luise Oppelt is an internationally acclaimed singer both in opera and concert and lives in Berlin/Germany. In 2022, she was awarded with the OPUS KLASSIK.

Anna-Luise Oppelt took part as a soloist in concerts of the Thuringia Bach Festival and the festival „Güldener Herbst“ Gotha. In 2024 she performed the Alto Solo in Mahler´s Symphony Nr. 3 in Berlin at Großer Sendesaal des RBB. Upcoming performances in 2024 include the Mahler: Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen at Beethovenfest Bonn and music by Louise Reichhardt, G. F. Händel and J. S. Bach at Schütz-Haus Weißenfels.

In 2023 she was invited to perform at the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, the Bachmuseum Leipzig, Beethovenfest Bonn and Festtage für alte und neue Musik Salzburg. In spring 2022, she performed as solo alto in a reconstruction of Bach´s St. Markus Passion with Musica Poetica in Den Haag and Arnstadt. With her Bach by Bike Ensemble, she performed at MDR Musiksommer, Weserfestspiele and Köthener Bachfesttage in 2022. In 2018 she sang the solo parts of a Bach cantata program at the Chamber Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic with the Karajan-Academy, followed by a scenic performance of St. John´s Passion at Radialsystem Berlin conducted by Marcus Creed in 2019. As an experienced singer in contemporary music, she performs regularly with the foundation St. Matthäus Berlin and the Guardini foundation, including the support programme for artists #sogehtsauch in 2020.

In opera, Anna-Luise Oppelt performed the part of the Third Lady in Mozart´s Magic Flute, in the world premiere of the chamber opera Lucie by do Nascimento as the title role and as Wilhelmine in Der Vetter aus Dingsda by Künneke. She sang Mrs. Peachum in Benjamin Britten´s The Beggar´s Opera and as Moon Woman 2 in the world premiere of Andrew Norman´s A trip to the Moon with the Berlin Philharmonic directed by Sir Simon Rattle. 2023 she performed Bradamante in Händel´s Alcina with Ensemble OrQuesta in Hastings/UK. In 2022 she has performed scenes from Wagner´s Götterdämmerung as Waltraute and from Massenet´s Werther as Charlotte with Theater Werkmünchen as well as Lola in Mascagni´s Cavalleria Rusticana with Opera Incognita in Munich.

Anna-Luise Oppelt is a grantee of Culture Moves Europe, Deutscher Musikrat and Neustart Kultur. 2024 she is a fellow of MozartLabor at Mozartfest Würzburg. In 2023 she was resident artist of Post Truth Project Germany. For her music- and cycling project Bach by Bike she has been awarded with the International Music Cities Award in 2021 and with the OPUS KLASSIK in 2022.

She was born in Berlin in Germany and achieved her Bachelor´s and Master´s degree at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar. Before her voice study, she achieved a degree in Music Pedagogy for violin and voice and studied baroque violin in Utrecht/The Netherlands. Masterclasses and private lessons with Ingeborg Danz, Christa Ludwig, Teresa Berganza, Anke Vondung, Petra Lang and the Bach-Academies with Helmuth Rilling and Hans-Christoph Rademann add to her diverse training. She is currently coached by Lioba Braun.
