Bio

Catherine Chen believes deeply in the power of music to heal and uplift. When she sings, she aspires to foster universal connection, love, and peace. Recently, Catherine was a finalist in the 2024 Morristown ONSTAGE! talent show at the Mayo Performing Arts Center, a sold-out event which raised over $20,000 for the Morris County school district arts programs in a single night. Of her performance, Morristowngreen.com writes: "Catherine Chen's treatment of Debussy's 'Beau Soir' was lilting and lovely, evoking an evening stroll along the Seine." Catherine also performed in the community theatre musical productions around New Jersey, including the world premiere of “Beethoven’s Wrong Note: a steampunk opera,” which was the winner of the 2024 NJ Perry award for Best Production of an Original Musical. She has also performed in the summer opera festival productions of Tosca and Elixir of Love as an ensemble member through NJ Lyric Opera company.

Professionally, Catherine earned her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Yale University and is a Regulatory Writer, ensuring that the safety and efficacy of potential medicines are properly presented to national health agencies.
