Welcome to my profile! My name is David Jiang, I'm a current Junior at Carmel High School, and I mainly sing in Classical/Opera categories. I've loved singing since I was young, but I only began singing classically in my Sophomore year. I've since found out I'm not actually a baritone, but a tenor!
Outside of singing, I also play oboe in my school's band. I've been a part of Indiana's All-State band, and I've also won awards for my ISSMA state-level performances. In my time outside of school, I enjoy community service, and I currently serve as a co-president of my school's Key Club! I also devote time to being an instructor for Blue Ivy Learning, a tutoring non-profit, and Project R.E.A.D.Y., an organization for kids with autism to learn communication and conversational skills. I have earned 3 Presidential Volunteer Service Award gold medals for my volunteer work.
I'm interested in finance and hope to pursue a career in corporate finance or investment banking. I'm currently participating in the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition, and Diamond Challenge, an entrepreneurship competition. I'm also in the process of starting my own podcast titled "Dollars & Decisions: Student Finance." I'd love it if you checked it out!
Dialing it back to singing, I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn about vocal performance. Nonetheless, I'm proud of where I am, and I'm excited to constantly learn more and meet new people along the way! If you've made it this far, I appreciate your time and attention!
