Mya Bodnick, 17 years old, is currently a Junior at the Oxbridge Academy of West Palm Beach, Florida, where she is a devoted member of their Musical Theatre Department as well as the Honors Performance Ensemble Class. Mya recently was awarded Overall Critic’s Choice for her solo at the District Thespian competition and Critics Choice for her duet. Most recently, Mya performed as Hope Harcourt in the musical Anything Goes, Glinda and Aunt Em in the Wizard of Oz, Margot in Legally Blonde, Wednesday in the Addams Family and Little Inez in Hairspray. Mya has been singing as a soloist at her synagogue, Temple Emanuel, since age eight at the high holy day services and special events. She was a soloist with the Aaron Kula’s Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra in their Jewish New Year’s Concert. She has sung the National Anthem numerous times for both the West Palm Beach Baseball Stadium and The Roger Dean Stadium, and most recently at the annual AIPAC Gala event at The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. For the past 5 years, Mya has given a solo performance for the Jewish Family Service’s Monthly Holocaust Survivor Breakfast. She is a member of The Kretzer Kids Foundation, which provides opportunities for her to perform as a soloist at various nursing homes, Hospitals and assisted living facilities in Palm Beach County. Mya was selected to be a member of the Kravis Center Student Theatre Critics group and is an Honors A student and a member of her school’s International Thespian Club and National Honors Society.
