Megan Gillespie

Voice, Piano, Performance Teacher & Contralto, Megan Gillespie, a Los Angeles native, earned her Master’s Degree in Opera Performance from the Manhattan School of Music conservatory and has been teaching students the art of performance for over 10 years.

​Ms. Gillespie sings with the Los Angeles Opera Chorus, Opera San Luis Obispo and performs frequently as a soloist with the Palisades Symphony.Ms. Gillespie’s opera career has taken her to the Royal Opera House of Oman, the Palacio de la Opera de La Coruna in Spain, the Castleton Opera Festival, Central City Opera, Carnegie Hall, the Beverly Hills Sundays at Two Recital Series, One World Symphony, and to venues in Greve, Italy, and Salzburg, Austria.

As an In-School Presenter for YoungArts, Ms. Gillespie is passionate in her support of educational and scholarship programs created to encourage talented young people pursuing careers in the arts.

Using the bel canto technique, Ms. Gillespie hones in on rhythm, diction, pitch, breath support, emotional performance, acting, as well as working with tracks and live accompaniment. She strives to prepare her students for competitions, auditions, voice over, television, theater, and film work, and much more.
