Sarah Marze is a Freshman at the University of Connecticut, studying Vocal Performance and Music Composition in the Honors Program. Sarah graduated from Canton High School in CT. She was a Fellow of the Ensign-Darling Vocal Fellowship at the Bushnell in Hartford. Sarah studied voice with Nancy Andersen, coached with David Chrzanowski, studied piano with Diana Lawler, and studied clarinet with Alan Francis. Sarah sang with the CT Children’s Chorus for twelve years. She also attended the Washington National Opera Institute and performed at The Kennedy Center. She recently won first place in her category of the CT NATS competition and was the first place classical vocalist in the Hartford Musical Club Competition. Coming soon, Sarah will be working with the Craft Ensemble as a student composer for the Women Composers’ Festival of Hartford.
Currently, Sarah studies voice with Dr. Constance Rock and coaches with Allan Conway. This semester she was selected as a Messiah Sing! soloist. She was also recently selected to be Holster Scholar Finalist at UConn, where she will be creating a Salem Witch Trials-inspired song cycle with Ginny Lowe Connors' poetry "Toward the Hanging Tree."
