Jacyn Gibbs, a native of Hampton Roads, Virginia has been involved in performing arts from her youth. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Norfolk State University and a Master of Vocal Performance from The University of Southern Mississippi. Jacyn received awards in the Mississippi Music Teacher's Association and National Association of Teachers of Singing vocal competitions in 2017-18, and was a chorus member of the Mississippi Opera’s 2018 production of Turandot. She played the "Voice of the Plant" in Downing Gross Cultural Arts's presentation of Little Shop of Horrors in 2020. She also won Second Place in the 2022 Virginia National Association of Teachers Competition. Jacyn has served in the Mississippi and Newport News Public School system as a music educator, and she is now an academic advisor at Regent University in Virginia Beach Virginia while she studies there for her Ph. D. in Education. However, she continues to pursue performance opportunities in her spare time, such as the 2023 Opera for Us program, geared toward educating minorities about the operatic art form. Jacyn has one 12 year old daughter, Cyndilu, and a four year old dog named Shirley. Jacyn also loves to cook and watch murder mysteries.
