Alixe Durand Saint Guillain is a French lyric soprano born in 1994.
She recently sung the role of Röschen in Ethel Smyth’s Der Wald, in a production by operationderkuenste in Berlin, and was also a finalist for the Concours Voix Nouvelles 2023, Region Switzerland.
In 2022, she graduated from Stockholm University of the Arts/Operahögskolan with a master’s degree in Opera Vocal Performance and sang La Fée in excerpts from Massenet’s Cendrillon at Gävle Teatern. That same year, she was awarded the Sigvard och Marianne Bernadotte Art Foundation Scholarship and received the Förderpreis der Stadt Torgau at the Internationale Sächsische Sängerakademie.
During her years in France, she notably performed the role of Leontine in the French premiere of Wagner’s Die Glüclkichen Bären Familie and was an active recitalist, performing Lieder and chamber music in concerts and festivals. She won the third prize in the 2020 International Music Competition Leopold Bellan and was semi-finalist in several competitions.
As she is passionate about every aspects of opera, she has also been active as an assistant stage director on several productions, and has completed a master’s degree in Philosophy of the Arts.
