Leena Malkki

• I have been singing in several leading roles as Desdemona in Otello, the title role in La Gioconda, Leonora in La Forza del Destino and now lately this year the title role Leonore in Fidelio by Beethoven in Malmö.

Leena Malkki, spinto soprano, became noted early on as a child soloist.She received her classical education mainly in Paris and

France and at the faculty of music in Malmö. Over the years, she has sung several leading roles:

The title role in "Fidelio, Leonora in "La Forza del Destino", Desdemona in "Otello", the title role in "La Gioconda" among others.

Malkki is also very active as a soloist in concerts, notably in a Schubert tour that she is doing this year with the famous Schubert

pianist Matti Hirvonen.
