Rae-Myra Hilliard, Lyric Soprano

Rae-Myra is an active recitalist and concert artist who diligently researches and promotes works written by composers of color. In October 2015, she released her debut CD, Lifescapes: One Woman’s Journey, on which all of the works were composed by Black-American composers. Her second recording project is a Christmas CD featuring classical and popular works of the season.

Rae-Myra is on faculty at the University of St. Francis and the Music Institute of Chicago. As an independent contractor, she provides private voice lessons at Evanston Township High School, Niles West High School, and with the Music of Baroque Strong Voices program in addition to her private home studio. In addition to performing and teaching, Ms. Hilliard is the music director of Saint James Lutheran Church in Lake Forest, IL.
