Bio

American tenor, Dan Jacobsen has been hailed as a young singing actor with a beautiful "golden" stentorian voice. His repertoire includes a lengthy study in operatic roles including Siegmund, Don Jose, Canio, and Idomeneo to name a few. He has also performed in several opera scene programs as well as a multitude of art song and German Lieder.

Studying at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, he performed multiple operas, opera scenes and oratorio. He had the opportunity for leading roles in works including: Mayor Upfold in Albert Herring, Pish-Tush in The Mikado, First Armored Man/Second Priest in The Magic Flute, Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas, and Dr. Caius in Falstaff. He was also the tenor soloist in The Messiah.

Professionally he has performed for Des Moines Metro Opera for ten seasons in four opera choruses, the silent role of Dr. Crabbe in Peter Grimes, and super work in seven summer productions.
