The young dramatic coloratura soprano Raquel Paulo has been heralded by audiences and critics alike for her magnetic stage presence, warm and dramatic voice, and outstanding musicianship.
Among Ms. Paulo’s stage credits are Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Tosca (Tosca), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Micaëla (Carmen), Alice (Falstaff), Nella (Gianni Schicchi), Vitellia (La Clemenza di Tito), Aufseherin (Elektra), Madame Euterpova (Help, Help, the Globolinks!), Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Die Knusperhexe (Hänsel und Gretel).
Raquel Paulo is equally in demand as a soloist in Sacred Music and Oratorios. On the concert stage her credits include Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass, C. M. Von Weber’s Jubelmesse, Saint-Saëns Christmas Oratorio, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Händel’s Messiah and Hercules, Verdi’s Requiem and Britten’s War Requiem.
Ms. Paulo studied Opera under the tutelage of Gabriele Lechner at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, from which she graduated with highest honors.
In her musical career, Raquel has had the opportunity to work with renowned professionals, such as Palmira Troufa, Abbie Furmansky, Elena Filipova, Lucas Macías Navarro, Lorenzo Viotti, Kamal Khan, Christoph Meier, Uwe Theimer, Guido Mancusi, Christian Schulz and Peter Marschik. She has also taken part in Masterclasses with Ileana Cotrubas, Piotr Beczala and Krassimira Stoyanova.
