Bio

Hello, I am Julia Kinsman. I am a senior at Barren County High School and am the advocacy manager for the Opera Teens of Opera America. I have been studying opera for around three years and will be pursuing my undergraduate degree in vocal performance. I will be auditioning live for The Julliard School of Music in March of 2023. I have participated in several classical voice competitions and have placed at several. Some of the more notable experiences include Kentucky NATS, Mid South NATS, National NATS, State BETA Performing Arts, Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts, Schmidt, CS Music, All State Choir, National Choir, Quad State Choir, and so much more! As someone who is from a small town, with no opera house within two hours of my location, I have had to travel around the country to be able to perform and view opera. Because of this, I am so honored to be given this opportunity to advocate for this incredible art form and for the many places that do not have access to its impact. Opera is truly the universal language of the world, and everyone deserves to have access to its beauty and meaning.
