Soprano Livia Bergo holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Brasília and a Master's degree in Singing from the Conservatorio di Musica di Perugia in Italy. She has had the privilege of performing under the direction of esteemed conductors from various countries, including Italians Emanuele Lippi and Giuseppe Cataldo, Olaf Storbeck from Germany, Elena Herrera from Cuba, Silvio Barbato, Ayrton Escobar, Ira Levin (US), Lincoln Andrade, Emílio de César, David Junker, Marcelo Ramos, and Marconi Araújo (BR), among others.
Her repertoire includes remarkable performances of Verdi's "La Traviata" in the title role, Puccini's "La Bohème" as Mimi, Weber's "Der Freischütz" as Agathe, Bizet's "Carmen" as Micaela, Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor" as Lucia, and Mozart's "The Magic Flute," where she portrayed Pamina in Weimar, Germany. She has also graced the stage in Mozart's "Don Giovanni" as Dona Elvira, and performed in various works, including "Vesper Solenis," "Requiem," "Missa da Coroação," Brahms’s “Ein Deutsches Requiem”, Rossini's "Stabat Mater" in Livorno, Italy, and Brasília, Brazil, Humperdinck's "Hänsel und Gretel" as the Dew Fairy, Vivaldi's "Dixit" and "Magnificat," and Haydn's "Missa Sancti Leopoldi." In 2013, she was invited by the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar in Germany to partake in a special concert season held in theaters in nearby cities.
Furthermore, Livia Bergo has ventured into roles as a conductor, choir vocal teacher, vocal coach, and an accomplished pianist accompanist for several city choirs, such as the Chamber Choir of the Brazilian House of Deputies, the Brasília Choir, the Caixa and Cidadania Choir, the Children's Choir of the Brasília Female Choir Association, the Choir of the Post Office, the Caesb Choir, and the TSE Choir. Her work as assistant conductor with the University of Brasília Choir led to impressive accolades, including first place in the Folk category at the Cantonigròs Choir Competition in Spain in 1997, and a third-place finish in the Mixed Choirs and Folk Music categories at the 3rd International Choir Competition in Miltenberg, Germany, in 2000.
Livia Bergo also directed Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute" in a production by the Opera Studio of the School of Music of Brasília. She served as an assistant director for Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana" during the 2nd Opera Festival of Brasília and for Donizetti's "L'elisir d'amore" in Perugia, Italy. In 2022, she took on the role of General Director for the opera "Der Freischutz," which was sponsored by FAC.
Additionally, she held the position of Artistic Director at Recanto da Cultura throughout its entire duration of activity and performed as a soprano with the Madrigal de Brasília for four years. Her dedication to music education extended for ten years as a teacher at the School of Music of Brasília from 2001 to 2022. Presently, she focuses on teaching voice, particularly the refinement of professional singers, and conducts workshops on the Italian Bel Canto technique.
