Cristina Rosheger is a 23 year old Soprano from the Chicagoland area. She is a recent graduate of DePaul University School of Music, where she performed many roles with the DePaul Opera Theatre, including Rose Maurrant/ Street Scene, Fiordligi/ Così fan tutte, Alice Ford/ Falstaff and Giunone/La Calisto. Her most recent scene work with Musica nelle Marche in Urbino, Italy includes Adina/L’elisir d’amore and Violetta/La traviata. Ms. Rosheger is interested in a diverse range of repertoire and songs composed by women; her Senior Recital featured works by Pauline Viardot, Lili Boulanger, and Irma Urteaga. Recently, she won the 2nd place prize of the Opera Grand Rapids Vanderlaan Competition and the Nerenburg Award from the Musicians Club of Women Vocal Competition. She currently studies privately with Scott Ramsay. Past teachers include Linda Di Fiore, Carl Lawrenz, Nicole Cabell, and Cynthia Mace. In the summer of 2023, Ms. Rosheger studied at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, where she performed in four concert programs featuring repertoire from opera, Spanish-language art song, and American Spirituals and competed as a Semi-Finalist in the Meistersinger Vocal Competition. She sang the role of Pamina in Chicago Summer Opera’s 2022 production of The Magic Flute. Ms. Rosheger also plays concert percussion and piano, and grew up in a musical household. She credits her parents’ unconditional support for her success in “following her bliss”.
