Carlos E. Pedroza
Bass-baritone
Carlos is a native of Cd. Juaréz, Chihuahua. In the summer of 2019, he was part of the
international summer program Cornish American Song Institute (CASI) as a fellow
member, where he performed the role of Felisberto in Lelia M. Sadlier’s The Ugly
Princess. Mr. Pedroza recently performed the role of Baptista in the American
premiere of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, an original adaptation
and composition to the play by Paul Elwood. This Spring he joins the University of
Northern Colorado’s Opera Theatre production of Virgil Thompson’s The Mother of
Us All, in which he will be playing the role of Ulysses S. Grant, as well as performing a duet from Lucia di Lammermoor in the role of Enrico, for the scenes part of the program.
Other operatic roles include: Colline (La bohème) with the University of Texas at El
Paso’s Opera Theater, and Triathlon Dan (Speed Dating Tonight).
Mr. Pedroza is currently working on his Master of Music degree at the University of
Northern Colorado and has received his Bachelor of Music degree in vocal
performance from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Upcoming performances include Mozart's Cosi fan tutte, in which Mr. Pedroza will be taking one of the lead roles as Don Alfonso in April, as well as a final masters recital.
