Bio

American countertenor Corey Hable is currently pursuing his Master of Arts degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London, England. Corey began singing at a very young age, participating in theater and church programs throughout San Diego, California. His varied interests include composition, dance, conducting, and performance as a countertenor. As an accomplished composer, Corey has had his works performed throughout the world. He studied with mezzo-soprano Jacalyn Kreitzer throughout his undergraduate pursuits and has recently studied with Raymond Connell, Australian mezzo-soprano Caitlin Hulcup, and répétiteur Joseph Middleton at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Other performances include: Orlando in Handel’s “Orlando” (Royal Academy of Music Vocal Faculty Scenes), Count Danilo Danilovich in Franz Lehar’s “Merry Widow” and the Major General in Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Pirates of Penzance” (Cal Poly Student Opera Theatre), the countertenor soloist in Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms (San Luis Obispo Symphony), and numerous roles at companies throughout San Diego, including San Diego Junior Theatre and The Old Globe. A firm believer that what he has learned only reaches its true potential when he can pass it on to others, Corey frequently works with young singers and choral ensembles throughout the San Diego area.
