Bio

Jean Furman is a Cleveland Institute of Music lyric coloratura soprano in the 5-year Overlap Program studying with Mary Schiller. She is a 1st place winner of multiple international competitions, including NATS, and has performed at Carnegie Hall. Furman sang in the ensemble of "Lizzie Borden" with Boston Lyric Opera in 2013 and Frasquita in "Carmen" with Commonwealth Lyric Theater in 2019. Recently, she performed the lead in a film adaptation of "The Juniper Tree" in 2019 and Papagena in "Die Zauberflöte" in 2020. She has also executed major roles in "Le nozze di Figaro", "West Side Story", and "Pirates of Penzance".
