Ben Johnson

Ben Johnson is a Junior vocal performance major at the Crane School of Music under the tutelage of Professor Donald George. As a member of the Crane Opera Ensemble, Ben has been in the world premiere production of Mayo, performed the Fragile Heart Duet in Speed Dating Tonight!, was the Basilio/Don Curzio cover in Le Nozze di Figaro, and was cast as Aeneas in the Spring production of Dido and Aeneas. This Summer Ben was accepted into Songfest and was cast as Acis in Acis and Galatea (moved to Summer 2021). This past summer, Ben performed various operatic scenes with Scuola Italia for Young Opera Singers including compositions by Mozart, Puccini, and Donizetti. Additionally, Ben was the featured soloist for the Mozart Mass in C minor with Crane Chorus. Previously, he has been featured in the Summer productions of Newsies and 1776 at Northampton Community College. Ben is also premiering the role of Thomas in the new musical, Program, this Fall at the Crane School of Music. In addition to performing, Ben is also the Vice President of Opera Club and the Historian for MTO. Ben is originally from Hellertown, Pa.
