Ms. Rebecca Cálix is an international singer of Latin-American descent, who was born and raised in California, and is based in Los Angeles and Toronto, Canada. Ms. Cálix earned a Master of Music from Loyola University New Orleans under Luretta Bybee and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Applied Voice from Pepperdine University under Dr. Melanie Emelio. She is a winner of the 2023 CS Vocal Competition Musical Theater University/Pre-Professional Division. Ms. Cálix was recently invited to be the featured performer at a World Peace Summit held at the World Peace Center in South Korea where her stage performance was beamed via satellite to a worldwide audience of more than 50,000 people. Her previous performances include solo performances with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the Marigny Opera House and Ballet, as well as the Minnesota Opera Chorus in 2021-2022. Ms. Cálix's favorite roles include Cecelia March from “Little Women” at Loyola and Ruth from “The Pirates of Penzance” at Pepperdine. One of her most memorable solo performance was when she performed for President Obama at the White House where she sang classic Mexican Folk Songs and Boleros celebrating the Cinco de Mayo Holiday in 2015. Ms. Cálix has also served as Cantor in both Spanish and English at local religious services during her early years as a performer. She hopes to reach the hearts of the audience by bringing them to the height of human emotion and experience through song.
