Kaitlyn went to see "The Magic Flute" at Seattle Opera in 2017, when she was 7 years old and decided right there that opera is her path. She joined Seattle Opera's Youth Opera Project later that same year and has performed in every Seattle Opera youth opera production since, as well as in the youth chorus for Seattle Opera's 2024 mainstage production of Pagliacci. Kaitlyn joined Seattle Opera's Teen Vocal Studio pre-college training program as an 8th grader and hopes to continue in this studio through high school (class of 2028). She consistently earns superior ratings in solo, small and large ensemble adjudications and regional competitions. Through her years of working with Seattle Opera, she has been afforded remarkable opportunities for performance, master class work, mentorship both as a mentee by professional opera singers and a mentor to youth performers. She attends a Big Picture high school and spends her time outside of school pursuing private instruction in voice and piano, singing in auditioned ensembles, recitals, concerts, and competitions, and performing in operas, musicals and plays. She is looking forward to continuing to learn and grow her skills throughout high school and college, where she plans to pursue Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in vocal performance/opera, with a goal of learning multiple languages, living abroad, and performing opera and classical music around the world.
