Soprano Anna Low is an accomplished vocalist and dedicated senior studying vocal performance at Brigham Young University. Her exceptional talent and hard work have earned her recognition and awards in various competitions. Most notably, Anna won Singer of the Year for 2023 in Brigham Young University's Young Artist competition. She also competed in this year’s Classical Singer Competition placing 2nd in the Classical University division.
Within Brigham Young University, Anna has been an integral part of numerous productions, collaborative recitals, concerts, and devotionals. Her love for performing has shone through her opera experiences at BYU, including her starring role as Valencienne in Franz Lehár's beloved opera The Merry Widow, her portrayal of Susan in Lennox Berkeley's contemporary one-act opera A Dinner Engagement, and as First Witch in Henry Purcell's timeless masterpiece Dido and Aeneas. Her vocal progress was also recognized through performances with BYU's symphonic orchestra as a winner of the Junior Concerto competition, and as a featured soloist in BYU's Theater Ballet's production, World of Dance.
In addition to her success at BYU, Anna has performed for audiences across the Baltic states, Spain, Guadeloupe, and several cities in the United States as a member of BYU Singers. Her passion for performing has taken her to Italy, Spain, and Canada where she sang as a soloist in concert. While in Italy, she performed the enchanting role of Nannetta in Verdi’s Falstaff with the young artist program, FIO Italia.
Currently, Anna is involved with the Sundance Resort Summer Theater Company in their production of The Sound of Music, and hopes to join BYU's production of Mozart’s Cosí fan tutte this upcoming season. Anna plans to continue performing and enlarging her talent through the many wonderful opportunities that may come her way.
