Praised for her “vocal gymnastics and projection”, Lyric-Coloratura Soprano Dr. Eun Ah Roh made her debut in a fully staged production as Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, a role she has gone on to perform with several other companies. Additional performances include portrayals of Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Blondchen in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Violetta in La Traviata, Voluptua in La Pizza con Funghi, Veronica in Dr. Miracle, among others. Dr. Roh has worked with New York Lyric Opera, Vegas City Opera, Las Vegas Sinfonietta, Bethesda Summer Music Festival, Baekryeong Opera, S&A Opera, James Madison Opera, Mason Opera, the Catholic University of America Opera, and Duquesne Opera. She performed as a soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Handel’s Messiah. She has sung on the stages of Carnegie Halls in New York and Pittsburgh, the National Opera Center in New York, and various other venues in Korea such as Seoul Arts Center, Seoul Young-San Arts Center, Baekryeong Arts Center, and more.
Most recently, she was the First prize winner of the Medici International Music Competition, the Grand prize winner of the USA Classical Hobbyists International Music Competition, and the American Opera Idol 2024 as Alternate. Dr. Roh also received Second place at the Concert International Virtuoso Voice Competition, won second place at the 6th Korea National Voice Competition, was the winner of the VANATS Voice Competition, alternative winner of the Pittsburgh Concert Society Competition, and the winner of Duquesne Concerto Competition. She received the Outstanding Performance Award from the National Association of Professional Asian American Women (NAPAW) and a certificate of appreciation from the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ).
Dr. Roh received her Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in voice performance at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Apart from her degrees from the United States, she studied and performed in Italy, where she received Beniamino Gigli and Lorenzo de’ Medici Diploma. Previously, Dr. Roh served as an assistant professor of music at Northern Virginia Community College for six years. Currently, she is a professional artist at Vocal Artists Management Services (VAMS).
