Bio

Praised for her “fresh and exuberant” stage presence, Ekaterina Kotcherguina is a flexible performer, equally compelling when portraying light-hearted damsels or tragic heroines. She particularly enjoys the intimacy of the song recital, which provides the opportunity to juxtapose traditional repertoire with that of living composers.

Recent performances include Mahler’s 4th Symphony and Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Longmont Symphony Orchestra, Messiah with the Hot Springs Music Festival, Donna Elvira in Denver Immersive Opera’s production of Giovanna’s, concerts with the Boulder Bach Festival, as well as numerous chamber concerts with Duet Azure. In 2023 Ms. Kotcherguina was a Young Artist with Opera Company of Middlebury, and also made her German debut with Mozart’s Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro. In 2020, Ms. Kotcherguina stepped in to sing Musetta with Boulder Opera Company as a last minute replacement.

Ms. Kotcherguina has also performed Schubert’s Mass in G Major with the Longmont Symphony Orchestra, concerts with the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, Boulder Opera Company, Seicento Baroque Ensemble, as well as chamber and solo recitals across the U.S. and Europe with Duet Azure.

Winner of the 2017 Denver Lyric Opera Guild Competition, Ms. Kotcherguina received her Performance Certificate in Opera and Solo Vocal Performance from the University of Colorado Boulder. In 2019, she was a semifinalist in the 15th Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon.

An active voice teacher, Ms. Kotcherguina maintains a private voice studio in Denver, CO. Her 2024-2025 season engagements include Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) in Germany, collaborations with Duet Azure, performances with the acclaimed German for Singers program with Middlebury College in Vermont, Mozart’s Requiem and an exciting recital schedule.
