Asian-American tenor Michael Wu is an emerging professional that has relocated to his hometown of Germantown, Maryland. He completed his Masters of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) in 2020. During his time in the Kansas City-area, Michael performed extensively with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City as a chorister as well as in their digital production of Amahl and the Night Visitors as King Kaspar. Other notable roles include working with UMKC Opera as Albert Herring (Albert Herring), Blind (Die Fledermaus), and Belfiore (La finta giardiniera); and with the Little Patuxent Opera Institute as Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Nelson Deadly (Too Many Sopranos), and Ferrando (Così fan tutte).
