Katharina Haberl is a lyric soprano, originally from Austria, who holds a master’s degree in Voice Performance from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, where she premiered several newly composed opera roles, including Queen in The Emperor’s New Clothes (N. Sohn) and Sor Rafaela in JUANA (C. Lucero) and was a young artist for the Seraphic Fire Young Artist Program.
In 2021, Katharina performed Musetta in La Bohéme with Ópera Cádiz and learned the role of Violetta with Vincerò Academy and was selected to prepare the role of Contessa and Mimi. She was also a semifinalist at the Concorso Internationale Di Canto Lírico Citta’ de Belluno and is a participant at the Clara Schumann Competition.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Voice performance from the Conservatorio del Liceu, Barcelona, where she had the pleasure to sing alongside José Carreras in a performance broadcasted on National Television.
Katharina has received awards and is a GRAMMY-winner with the UCLA Chamber Singers for “Best Choral Performance” with the piece Passion of Yeshua. She was also awarded the Philip Altman Award, the Mimi Alpert Feldman Award and an Award for Outstanding Vocal Performance.
Upcoming performances in 2022 will include “Exultate Jubilate” by W. A. Mozart with the Orchestra Antiqua Mediterranea in the South of France.
