Julia Clarke is a senior at DePaul University, pursuing a dual degree in vocal performance and music education. She is in the studio of Nicole Cabell. Originally from Palatine, Illinois, Julia has been studying music and singing since the 5th grade. Some of her dream roles include: Susanna from Le nozze di Figaro, Adele from Die Fledermaus, Giulietta from I Capuleti e i Montecchi, and Baby Doe from The Ballad of Baby Doe. A trip this past summer to Urbino, Italy with the opera program Musica nelle Marche has given Julia some amazing opportunities to study the Italian language and sing meaningful work in the place that it was created. Some highlights of her time at DePaul include performances in 5 operas (with performances in March 2020 in Le nozze di Figaro), featuring as a soloist with the DePaul 20+ ensemble, and curating and performing in recitals. Julia has a strong passion for music education and she believes that a quality music education is fundamental for all students, regardless of the circumstances they were born into. She hopes to have a future in education, regardless of where life takes her. Julia credits her parents, Susan and Dermot, for instilling hard work and dedication to her musical studies.
