Bio

17-year-old soprano Emma Stamper is from Davenport, FL. She is a senior at the Lois Cowles Harrison Center for the Visual and Performing Arts in Lakeland, FL. In 2018, she won 1st place in the senior voice category in the Marylin Newell Music festival competition. In 2019, she was selected by the American Choral Directors Association for the National Honor Choir in Kansas City, MO as well as the Southern Divison Honor choir in Mobile, AL in 2020. She has also been in the Florida American Choral Directors Association honor choir for both her sophomore and junior years. She was a selected soloist in her sophomore year for FL ACDA. Emma was in the Florida Music Educators Association All-State sight-reading choir in 2019 and also received a rating of superior with distinction in 2019 for Florida state solo and ensemble and was selected for the honors recital. She competed in the 2020 Schmidt Vocal Competition and received an encouragement award. In May of 2020, she advanced to the semi-finals of the National Orpheus Vocal Competition in the High School category and won 3rd place. And in April of 2020, she was a finalist in the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition in the art song category. And most currently, she advanced to the 2nd round for the 2020 Classical Singer Competition in the Classical High School category. Then she was a finalist for the Schmidt Vocal Competition for the Florida cohort.

When she isn’t singing, she also plays the piano. In 2018, she received Excellence in the Piano Music Teacher Federation. And in 2019 and 2020 she received Superiors with distinction for the Piano Music Teacher Federation.
