Kaitie Fernandez Lawson, 35, a proud Knoxville, Tennessee native began her musical training at the age of 20 while fulfilling her undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics at Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee. After moving to North Carolina to pursue a master’s degree in Biostatistics, Kaitie joined the North Carolina Opera (NCO) company and has participated in productions of Aida, Norma, Carmen, and Pagliacci (to name a few). She has also been a featured soloist for NCO’s Opera About Town online web series. In addition to her work with NCO, she has performed oratorio work in collaboration with MidAmerica Productions with performances at Carnegie Hall (’17) and Minoritenkirche, Vienna (’19). Kaitie has also been a featured soloist for several private events with the most recent collaboration being with the French embassy for a National Order of the Legion of Honour ceremony. She is currently under the vocal guidance of Lora Fabio and Jordan Schreiner.
