Phena Hackett is an emerging Opera singer who also really enjoys singing jazz, musical theater, pop, and other types of music. Recently, she performed the role of Goldie B. Locks in John Davies’ production of Goldie B. Locks & the Three Singing Bears with Tulsa Opera’s Opera on Tour! Initiative. She has also performed the soprano role in Dr. Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham with Tulsa Opera’s Opera on Tour! Initiative, as well as worked with AHHA Artists in Schools/Theatre Tulsa performing Aso in Anansi the Spider. She performed Laurey in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! (Spinning Plates Productions), Joey’s Mom in Tulsa Opera’s commercial for their 2018-19 season (Kirkpatrick & Kinslow Productions/WeerNProduction), and performed as a Soprano soloist in Johann Sebastian Bach’s Magnificat in D Major (TCC Signature Chorale). Her other credits include her comprimario roles as First Mother in Tulsa Opera’s production of Dead Man Walking and one of the Keely Family Singers in Tulsa Opera’s production of Elmer Gantry, her principal main stage debut as High Priestess in Tulsa Opera’s production of Aida, the 2nd Lady in a production of Duke Ellington’s Sophisticated Ladies, Soprano solo in the Tulsa Ballet’s production of Lady of the Carmellias, Soprano soloist in Ralph Vaughn Williams’ Hodie and John Rutter’s Mass of the Children with Tulsa Oratorio Chorus (Tulsa Chorale). She obtained her Bachelors in Music-Vocal Performance from the University of Tulsa and her Masters in Music-Opera Performance from Oklahoma City University.
