Gabrielle Meinke, a soprano from Detroit, Michigan, has been described by Voix des Arts as possessing unerring theatrical instincts. She is recent graduate University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) with a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and a minor in German Studies, where she studied with Dr. Mailyn Taylor. From a young age Gabrielle was drawn to music and the dramatic arts and has excelled in honing her performance and musical skills since coming to UNCSA. In terms of solo performance, Gabrielle has been Minerva in Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach, Jolicoeur in Monsieur et Madame Denis by Offenbach, Judge 1 in John Musto’s Volpone, and, her breakout role, Eurilla in Haydn’s Orlando Paladino, where she “limned Eurilla’s capricious playfulness with great charm… making each of Eurilla’s appearances in the opera a joy.” (Voix des Arts). During her 4 years at UNCSA she has also been in the choruses of Donizetti’s Linda di Chamounix, Handel’s Jeptha, and Verdi’s La Traviata with Piedmont Opera.
