Mezzo-soprano Anna Grace Roth is currently based in northern Michigan, and in March of 2025 completed her Master’s degree in opera at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, Germany, under the instruction of Professor Anne Schwanewilms. Her recent performances include Opera Galas throughout Thuringia, various concerts affiliated with the HfM in Weimar, and operatic roles including Hänsel from “Hänsel und Gretel” by Engelbert Humperdinck (HfM Weimar Opernwerkstatt 2025), Cherubino from “Le nozze di Figaro” by W. A. Mozart (Theater Rudolstadt 2024), Prinz Orlofsky from “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss (Weimarhalle 2023) and Die Nachbarin from “Mavra” by Igor Stravinsky (C-Keller Weimar 2023).
Anna has also sung Cherubino at the HfM Franz Liszt, Prinz Orlofsky at the Berlin Opera Academy, and La vechietta/La duchessa from “La bella dormente nel bosco” and Olga Olsen from “Street Scene” during her undergraduate studies at DePauw School of Music.
In addition to opera, Anna also enjoys singing concert repertoire. A highlight of her concert experiences includes touring as a soloist with the Hunterdon Symphony Orchestra during their 2022 Austrian performances in the Baden Congress Center, the Mirabell Gardens in Salzburg, and their Beethoven Orchestra Festival appearance in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein.
She has participated in many young artist programs, including the Berlin Opera Academy (2021), the AIMS Lieder Studio in Graz (2019), the IES Abroad Vienna Music Program (2019), the Bayview Music Festival in Petoskey, Michigan (2017), and others. She received a Bachelor degree in Vocal Performance from the DePauw School of Music in 2020, as well as a minor in German language.
She has won several awards, including the 2nd place in her category at the 2020 NATS Great Lakes Regional Competition in the United States. She is also a finalist of the 2020 and 2018 DePauw Concerto Competitions, and a recipient of the 2016 Grand Traverse Musicale Scholarship. Most recently, Anna was selected to represent the HfM Franz Liszt Weimar at the 2024 Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Hochschulwettbewerb in Berlin.
