Allysa Packard is a talented soprano with a passion for music that has taken her to stages around the world, including notable performances in China, Italy, and Prague. She has had the privilege of collaborating with various choirs, operas, and study programs, showcasing her versatility and dedication to her art.
Among her recent achievements, Allysa has had the honor of performing for the Protocol Diplomacy International - Protocol Officers Association, at the 2023 International Education Forum. She recently performed as a soloist in Handel's Messiah and as a chorus member in the opera Nabucco with the Washington Concert Opera. In 2022 she participated in the US premiere of the opera La Pauvre Eugénie as the title role Eugénie herself.
Allysa's repertoire spans both opera and musical theater, where she has portrayed memorable characters like Belle in Beauty and the Beast and Marian the Librarian in The Music Man. In the world of opera, she has sung the roles of the Countess in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus, and Madame Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmelites.
Her talent has been acknowledged with various awards, including third place in the Dorothy Lincoln-Smith Competition NSAL DC chapter in 2018, as well as recognition as Outstanding Senior and two-time USU Concerto Competition winner. Allysa has had the privilege of being a soloist in acclaimed works like Bach's St John's Passion and Mass in B Minor, as well as the soprano soloist in Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
Allysa holds a Master's in Music from the University of Maryland, where she studied in the Maryland Opera Studio under the guidance of soprano Linda Mabbs. During her academic journey, she received comprehensive training in various aspects of performance, including movement, acting, mask work, and stage combat. She also earned her Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance from Utah State University, studying with soprano Cindy Dewey.
In addition to singing, Allysa’s passion for music really grew as she learned to play the piano. Beginning her studies at the age of 5 Allysa studied the piano up through her sophomore year of college. The repertoire she has learned ranges from baroque to contemporary, receiving many awards at the music academy she attended. She enjoys helping others gain an understanding of the instrument that brings her so much joy, even if it’s something as simple as playing a scale or arpeggio.
Today, Allysa finds fulfillment in teaching, sharing her knowledge and nurturing the growth of aspiring musicians. Her dedication to her craft and her commitment to music education are evident in her interactions with her students.
