Elisabeth Slaten

Elisabeth Slaten is a young, dynamic soprano known for her impeccable musicianship and fine artistry. As an acclaimed singing actress, she already has eighteen roles to her resume. In January of 2017 Ms. Slaten made her New York City debut with the Bronx Opera singing Meg Page in Vaughan William's Sir John in Love and has continued to perform throughout the city, including her role debut as Donna Elvira in Bronx Opera’s Don Giovanni this winter. She also recently made her debut with New Hampshire's Opera North where she covered the leading role, Cio Cio San, in Puccini's Madama Butterfly.

Ms. Slaten has sung the roles of Musetta with Amore Opera in New York City and Yum-Yum in the Bronx Opera's updated version of The Mikado. While in residency at the University of Georgia, she sang the leading roles of Suzel in L'amico Fritz, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Antonia in Les contes d’Hoffmann, and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte. She was also a Finalist in the Atlanta Pro-Mozart Society Scholarship and a 2015 Semi-Finalist in the National Orpheus Vocal Competition.

An avid and well-rounded concert artist, Ms. Slaten has been the soprano soloist for Handel’s Messiah, Saint-Saens’ Christmas Oratorio, Brahms’ Ein Deutches Requiem, and Dubois’ The Seven Last Words of Christ. This winter she also made her New York cabaret debut in The Secret Not-So-Secret Show at Feinstein's/54 Below, where she and her other cast members were praised by Broadway World for their "nicely tight harmonies, [that] brought an Andrews Sisters feel to their Doo-Wopish number."

Ms. Slaten holds graduate degrees from the University of Georgia and Peabody Conservatory.
