Maria Janus

Lyric coloratura soprano, Maria Janus, is a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She

holds a Master of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she

studied with Jane Randolph. She received her Bachelor of Music in Voice

Performance and Bachelor of Arts in English from Louisiana State University in

Baton Rouge.

Ms. Janus teaches voice and piano in Oceanside and is a member of the National

Association of Teachers of Singing. She currently sings with the San Diego Opera

Chorus. Past engagements include: San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Pocket Opera,

West Edge Opera, San Diego Master Chorale, Pacific Lyric Opera, and

Sacra/Profana, as well as premiering new music with the Berkeley-based group

Wild Rumpus.
