Madeline Hanrahan is a young lyric soprano that has just completed her junior year at Illinois Wesleyan University. She is working towards a Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance under the tutelage of Dr. Linda J Farquharson. In the fall of 2018 and 2019, Madeline participated in the CRNATS Vocal Competition, earning an honorable mention both years, and becoming a finalist in 2018. Some of her operatic roles during her time at IWU include Le Prince Charmant in Massenet's Cendrillon, Amahl in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors, and various characters in IWU's Opera Scenes 2019 including Beth in Little Women and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. Madeline has had the opportunity to sing international with the IWU Collegiate Choir in Montreal, Poland, and South Africa. While in Poland, she had the chance to sing in Andrea Bocelli's choir during one of his concerts. Madeline would like to attend graduate school and a few summer programs in the near future, so she can continue on her path towards a career in vocal performance.
