Sara Lucille Law is a New York City based soprano and singing-actor. Praised for her “…striking stage presence and pinpoint high coloratura.” (South Florida Classical Review), as well as her “…lightness, brightness, and clarity of tone” (Voce di Meche), Ms. Law was last seen as Monica in Menotti's The Medium under the baton of Ismael Sandoval (Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chattanooga Symphony & Opera). Previous roles also include Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), April in Company (2019 BroadwayWorld Best Actress Nominee), Johanna in Sweeney Todd (2018 BroadwayWorld Best Actress Winner), Tytania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Frasquita (Carmen), La fée (Cendrillon), and Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring).
Equally at home on the concert stage, Ms. Law was most recently seen as the soprano soloist in Handel's "Messiah" with the Eureka Ensemble. In 2018, she made her debut with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra as the soprano soloist on their annual "Holiday Pops!" concert, and, in the spring of 2019, returned as the soprano I soloist for the CSO's presentation of Bach's "Mass in B minor". She is also a member of the internationally acclaimed Taylor Festival Choir, where she has sung the soprano solo in Mozart’s "Laudate Dominum" under the baton of Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt, as well as the soprano I solo's in Monteverdi's motet, "Beatus Vir", and Bach's "Jesu, meine Freude". No stranger to the competition circuit, Ms. Law was a 2019 national semi-finalist in the Artist Division of the prestigious Camille Coloratura Awards, and most recently, a 2020 international finalist in Opera Ithaca's highly competitive Edward M. Murray International Competition of Voice.
This summer, Ms. Law joins Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre as a 2020 Festival Artist, making her role debut as Papagena in Mozart's "The Magic Flute" (CANCELLED due to COVID-19). Ms. Law has also been an Apprentice Artist with Miami Music Festival, as well as a Young Artist with Mannes Opera, The Janiec Opera Company at Brevard Music Center, and Hawaii Performing Arts Festival. She holds a Bachelor’s of Music from The New England Conservatory and a Master’s of Music from The Mannes School of Music. Ms. Law is currently represented by MIA Artists Management.
