Clara Lyons

For me, singing is the way I was meant to communicate. It's a long story, but I was singing before I could speak. Literally. And since I've started to find and understand my voice, I've been drawn to classical music. I'm fascinated by finding those songs that fit my voice; ones that feel like I was meant for them and they were written for me. I love when the genius of a beautiful piece of music is paired with a gorgeous voice.

I am completing my junior year at Whitefish Bay High School in Whitefish Bay, WI. I have been studying voice with Julia Faulkner Voice Studio since 2018 and I have also studied voice with Kitt Reuter-Foss. As a middle school student, I competed in the Wisconsin Federation of Music Clubs Junior Federation festivals, earning a superior rating three consecutive years. In high school, I have participated in the WI Solo & Ensemble competition earning top scores at the regional and state level every year. As a sophomore and junior, I was selected to participate in the prestigious WSMA State Honors Choir and I will perform in the Mixed Choir in October 2022. I have competed in the CS Music Showcase for several years and was selected as one of 100 semi-finalists from a field of 1200 entrants in Spring 2021 and 2022.

Music and dance are the centers of my creative pursuits. I also study piano, play the violin, and I have years of dance training including ballet, ballroom, and hip hop. Fun fact: I’ve been studying aerial arts (as in circus performing) with silks, lyra, and trapeze since middle school.
