Alexandra Wiebe is a Canadian soprano and recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Voice and Opera Performance from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music. She most recently performed the role of Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium with Northwestern University Opera Theatre. Alexandra has additionally performed the roles of Lady Billows in Albert Herring with Chicago Summer Opera, where she also performed in scenes as Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), and Vera Donovan (Dolores Claiborne), Gertrude in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, the Hungarian opera diva in Northwestern University Opera Theatre’s production of Die Fledermaus, La Blanche Aline in Arthur Honegger’s Les Aventures du Roi Pausole, and scenes as Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte. Alexandra has been a young artist with Premiere Opera Vocal Arts Institute (2021), Chicago Summer Opera (2021), and Russian Opera Workshop (2019), performing in masterclasses with sopranos Carol Vaness and Sally Wolf, NYIOP president David Blackburn, and Metropolitan Opera assistant conductor Caren Levine. Alexandra was also a finalist in the Opera MODO Aria Competition and the Classical Singer International Vocal Competition in 2021, and will be competing as one of twelve finalists in the Musicians Club of Women Vocal Competition this spring. This summer, Alexandra will be singing the role of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and covering Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro with the Vienna Summer Music Festival.
