Alexandra Wiebe recently graduated from the New England Conservatory with her Master of Music in Opera Studies.
Her most recent roles include Foreign Princess/ Ježibaba (Rusalka: The Littlest Mermaid), Matilde (Matilde), Nedda (Pagliacci), Madame Pompous (Too Many Sopranos), and Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus). In the new year, Alexandra will be heard in the John Alexander National Vocal Competition Winners Concert with Opera Mississippi and as the soprano soloist in Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras with Symphony Pro Musica in Boston. She spent this past season in residence with Cedar Rapids Opera as both a Smith Young Artist and an Artist-in Residence with their Lift Every Voice Program. Alexandra holds awards from The American Prize, Musicians Club of Women, Music Grand Prix International, the National Opera Association, Classical Singer International, Nouvelles Étoiles International, and NATS. Other favourite operatic roles include Giunone (La Calisto), Elle (La voix humaine), Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), and Lady Billows (Albert Herring). As a recitalist Alexandra has been featured with The Cleveland Opera, Boston Singers’ Resource, Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Boston Wagner Society, the Musicians Club of Women, and New England Conservatory. In addition to maintaining an active performance schedule, Alexandra is passionate about voice science and serves as a data analyst to a team studying the intersection of voice use and technology at Northwestern University.
