Miami born mezzo-soprano, Katherine Alexander, grew up in a wonderful mix of cultures created by her Cuban mother and Greek father. As a child she showed great passion for music and the arts. Throughout her formative years she attended several music schools and became involved in stage productions and performances. After high school, Katherine was accepted into the New World School of The Arts College (NWSA) in Miami, Florida and graduated with honors as a Bachelor of Music (Opera/Voice). She would later go on to attend Florida State University where she obtained her Master of Music degree as well.
Katherine traveled to Italy where she worked with some of the best professionals in the opera industry and was chosen to perform leading roles in Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Händel's Partenope, among other works. Katherine Alexander obtained 1st place in several competitions including the NWSA Concerto Competition and Univision’s Idolo Del Pueblo talent search, to name a few, which she won with a unanimous vote from the judges. Katherine later began working with several renowned and talented producers and artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Carlos Vives, Wisin y Yandel, and others. She placed #1 on the Billboard Music charts for three consecutive weeks and has performed at the American Airlines Arena (Miami) and Madison Square Garden (New York). She also opened for Enrique Iglesias' concert at the grand Choliseo in Puerto Rico.
Katherine continues to perform classically throughout South Florida and is currently the lead soloist at The Ancient Spanish Monastery in North Miami Beach, Florida. Inspired by a diverse mix of artists and genres, Katherine Alexander's style is unique, eclectic and profound which can be felt in her performances and resonates in her music.
