Bio

Sydney Sorbet is a Mezzo-Soprano currently pursuing a double major in Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre with a minor in Arts Administration at Louisiana State University under the instruction of Dr. Lori Bade with an expected graduation date of May 2024. In her time at LSU, she has been seen singing on the opera stage in many roles including Nettie Fowler in Carousel, Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Mrs. Segstrom in A Little Night Music, covering Dorothée in Massenet’s Cendrillon, La Zia Principessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Orson #2 in the collegiate premier of Daron Hagen’s Orson: Rehearsed, and the Second Witch in Dido and Aeneas. Outside of LSU, Sydney has performed with Music on Site, Inc, and as a studio artist at both Operafest! Sewanee and Opera in the Ozarks, and this summer is singing with the Collaborative Piano Institute and as Ottone in L'incoronazione di Poppea at Red River Lyric Opera.
