Dennis Xu is a 12th grader from Clear Creek High School in Houston, TX. Demonstrating vocal talent at age of three, he has been taking private vocal lessons with Prof. Summer Song since 2017, who is faculty with Houston Christian University Music Department. Dennis is the 2nd place winner in Upper High Classical TBB in NATS National Student Audition Finals 2022, NATS TEXOMA High School Audition 1st place winner in 2021 and Houston NATS High School Audition in 2020 and 2021, and Texas All-State Mix Choir Bass Chair in 2021 and 2022. He performed solo at Carnegie Hall in June 2022 as a winner of the American Protégé International Concerto Competition in 2021. A member of the St. Paul’s Choir Scholars and Clear Creek High School choir, he has done solos and choir performances on various occasions in the Houston community, including soloing Bernstein Chichester Psalms for three performances in Jones Hall with Houston Symphony in 2016 and with China Central TV Channel in 2017. Dennis is going to attend Stanford University, double majoring in music and computer science in the fall of 2023.
