Bio

The Brazilian mezzo-soprano and violinist Camila Montefusco frames passion and storytelling in her performances. Her craft interrelates instrumental and vocal music with powerful connection to poetry and artistry.

In 2017, she concluded her Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance at the University of Sao Paulo. Later, her passion for singing led her to move to Canada for a Master's degree at the University of Western Ontario under the tutelage of Patricia Green.

In her short career as a vocalist, Camila has won the 1st prizes at Maritsa Brookes Concerto Competition and NATS Ontario Showcase. Some of her most recent achievements include the Revelation Prize at the Linus Lerner International Vocal Competition (BRA), and the London Opera Guild Scholarship.

Camila Montefusco had her opera debut as Katisha in Sullivan’s The Mikado, and her next season features La Zia Principessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica with UWO Opera Studio, a performance of Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen with the UWO Orchestra, and her graduation solo recital.
