Autumn Wascher, canadian soprano, comes from Windsor Ontario and is currently completing her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo under the tutelage of mezzo soprano Marianne Bindig.
In her time at Wilfrid Laurier University, Autumn has performed with Opera Laurier in two major productions as well as their Fall excerpt shows. In March 2019, she performed the title role in Cendrillon by Jules Massenet, directed by Amanda Smith and conducted by Daniel Warren. In 2017, she had the privilege of performing both Antonia and Giulietta in The Tales of Hoffmann by Jacques Offenbach, directed by Anna Theodosakis and conducted by Leslie De’Ath. In January 2019, Autumn performed the role of Micaëla in Carmen by Bizet with the KW Symphony at Centre in the Square, conducted by Andrei Feher.
Autumn has participated in workshops with renowned vocalists, conductors and coaches, including Dr. Michael Warren whose annual NYC intensive she has attended for the last three years, as well as masterclasses with Christiane Riel, Rosemarie Landry, Erin Wall, Roger Honeywell and Jean-Marie Zeitouni. This summer 2020, Autumn will understudy the role of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with the Brott Opera Summer Music Festival.
